Fenty Beauty Launches in Boots UK
Tomorrow (May 10th 2019) Fenty Beauty officially launches in Boots (UK)! Wohooo. This is very exciting - especially for me as I usually have to trudge all the way to Harvey Nichols just to try out a new collection (which is pretty far for me). Fenty will officially be available in 32 Boots stores nationwide and online. Most exciting for me is that with my early access I managed to get my hands on the ‘Who Needs Clothes’ Body Lava which has been pretty much sold out everywhere I’ve looked (including every Sephora store in Manhattan - I actually checked this on my recent trip to New York!). So now, thanks to Boots, I get to glow like RiRi on my upcoming trip to Ibiza!
To celebrate this very exciting launch, I thought I’d investigate how many great brands are actually available in Boots and review a few of my fav available products.
Fenty Beauty
Let’s start with the obvious amazingness that is Fenty. As you may have previously read on my blog or instagram, whilst I love Rihanna and most Fenty products, I don’t actually get on with the concealer or the foundation. HOWEVER, given a lot of this was down to finding time to trek to Harvey Nichols and try on the right shade, now it’s more widely available in the UK I might be willing to give it another chance.
The Fenty Beauty Pro Filr’r Instant Retouch Primer
This was a product I’ve been using since Fenty first launched and it is one of my all-time favourite primers. I really love the fact that it’s so creamy and feels more like a moisturiser than a primer.
I find silicon-based primers feel like your make-up might just glide off throughout the day. This one actually feels like a good skincare fix too. It’s supposed to stop you getting oily (not really an issue for me) and smooth your skin with a soft matte base. It’s definitely soft and matte and gives a feeling of hydration. It also comes in a really good size so it lasts a really long time.
The Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo
This is another one that I have been using for a while now - in fact, I have finished it and need to get a new one (hello Boots, here I come). I used this in the shade ‘Lightening Dust / Fire Crystal’ and it really was FIRE! The blinding side (you’ll know which one that is) really is just that - blinding. I would always take this with me when I was heading out on a night out after work. One dusting of this and I was glow ready. The slightly calmer side was then perfect for that daytime dew look too. I also really liked the way this highlighter blends. Some of them can look a little chalky and patchy which isn’t the case here at all. 10/10 RiRi.
Dior
Sometimes I forget just how many luxury brands reside at Boots. Dior is one of these and so whether you’re looking for that beautiful make-up or stunning skincare, why not collect some of those Boots points when you’re shopping? I realise now this is beginning to sound like an advert for Boots - they’re not paying me to write this or anything I am just very impressed… although open to payment lol!!
Hydra Life Hydration Rescue Intense Sorbet Creme
This product from Dior is one I have been using as part of my daily skincare routine. The balm / moisturiser gel / cream (I can’t write work out what it is) is so refreshing and hydrating. It definitely helps nourish and calm my sensitive skin as it has Chamomile extract and it has certainly been helping get some hydration into my dry skin. I like the texture that feels really cold to touch, like almost an after sun cream. It’s lightweight and buttery without being greasy!
Pixi Beauty
Pixi is another great one on the list of Boots brands. I will be honest, I haven’t been using Pixi that long but it’s become a part of my routine now (and forever). Whether it’s the hydration mist, the ‘on the glow stick’ (which you can read about here) or the glow tonic - Pixi is amazing.
Pixi Rose Flash Balm
I am going to talk specifically about the Pixi Rose Flash Balm although I love all their products. With this one I love that it’s so multi-purpose. It can be used as a primer or a mask. As I’ve been using my Fenty filt’r primer so much I’ve been using it as mask much more (read about masks here). It moisturises and brightens and leaves my skin feeling light. It’s not as heavy duty as some but that’s why it’s multi-purpose and feels like you can give your skin a hit of moisture more often.
Too Faced
Last but not least, Too Faced is another brand I didn’t realise was stocked in Boots. Long before I started blogging and creating content I watched my favourite YouTubers talking all about Too Faced.
Better than Sex Mascara
I have been using the Better than Sex mascara lately and trust me, the hype is real. It gives an extreme glam look without making your lashes feel hard or rigid. I will say that it’s not totally waterproof so you need to watch black marks under eyes but this means it’s easier to get off in the evening and doesn’t make me have to scrub my eyes (or pull out all my lashes).
And that’s it. All the goodness of Boots with Fenty coming tomorrow! Wohoooo.
