My Top 5 Skincare Rescue Products

Recently my skin reacted very badly to a product. I was getting too cocky, trying too many different products at once on my sensitive skin. I certainly learnt my lesson! It has taken me a little while to get my skin right again but what is has allowed me to do is find some products that really work to relieve my sensitive skin. So if you’re in need of some skin rescue, these are the products I would recommend.

REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm

So many people recommended this to me after I said I had had a reaction. I have to say, when I saw the size of the pot for £40… I was sceptical. I needn’t have been though, I would have paid double for what this did for me!

The balm contains Jojoba and Sunflower Oils to strengthen the natural barrier function. It melts into the skin and helps with dryness (thank God) and of course, irritation. This was EXACTLY what I needed. It almost instantly soothed my skin and I’ve never woken up to such a smooth & hydrated face. From now on I plan to ALWAYS have a stash of this in my cupboard.

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid

I have only just started using this recently and wouldn’t normally recommend a product so soon but…. F***!

This stuff is AMAZING… and cheap! It’s dubbed a moisture magnet - this 2% concentration helps with dehydration, dullness and uneven tone.

I was expecting a long wait to see results and in quite a small pot I wasn’t sure I would see any effect that soon. Immediately I loved the thin and non-sticky texture. Even from the first day, I can honestly say I’ve never woken up to such plump skin. Even after my reaction it looks so much brighter and healthier and I genuinely think 50% of that is down to this product.

Allies Of Skin Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser

I was SOO excited when I was gifted some products by Allies Of Skin. The first product from their generous bundle I wanted to try was this hydrating cleanser - two of my favourite words!

This pH 5.5, sulphate-free universal cleanser is supercharged with a hydrating blend of antioxidants. Or at least that’s what it says on the description! What I personally like about this is how gentle it is. You can tell it’s working hard like a foaming cleanser would but without stripping away any moisture.

It contains silk amino acids, purifying safflower and moringa oil as well as ethylated l-ascrobic acid to brighten the skin. I love that my skin feels super soft afterwards and I am not sprinting to the moisturiser as I sometimes need to after a harsh cleanse.

Medik8 Crystal Retinol

I have to be super careful with retinol products. I love an anti ageing serum but my skin is sensitive ,so I am always on the look out for a gentle way to get rid of those fine lines. Well… I’ve found it.

The results of this are already starting to show with my skin showing less signs of ageing and at 33 now I need all the help I can get.

I love that it’s so soft and hydrating and gives me a bit of a radiant glow almost immediately. This is the perfect retinol if you’re scared to use retinol. Love it.

A Florence Skincare Toner

My final favourite rescue product is one from a British brand - A Florence.

Toners can tend to be quite stripping and harsh on the skin but this milky formula is lovely and calming - especially for damaged skin. In fact the it’s pitched as being a hydrating and conditioning treatment when your skin is acting out.

It’s specifically formulated for dehydrated and tight skin to allow for better absorption of subsequent products - so all the above get to work their magic with a little help from this one.

So if you’re looking for a very gentle and effective toner - this is your product!
